  摘要:

  Soil moisture plays an important role in the hydrological and climate system as it determines the partitioning of energy at the surface and consequently impacts associated water and energy fluxes. Since several years, global soil moisture products have been retrieved from both active and passive microwave observation systems on board satellites. One of the more successful models to retrieve soil moisture is the Land Parameter Retrieval Model (LPRM) which was successfully applied to a series of space-borne sensors. Besides soil moisture, the LPRM is also capable of retrieving a proxy for vegetation water content, land surface temperature and the associated uncertainty of the soil moisture product. In the recent years, LPRM soil moisture products were integrated in the 30+ years Essential Climate Variable (ECV) dataset and the model is also operating in a near real time fashion in NASA's Global Change Master Directory. Passive microwave observation from the Microwave Radiation Imager on board the FengYun 3B satellite can be of great value to extend and improve the current soil moisture (and related parameters) heritage.

  Two major points will be presented:

  1. An overview of the LPRM model, its application to multiple satellites and an introduction to the ECV soil moisture (and vegetation water content) dataset;

  2. The application of LPRM to FY3B microwave observations, with special emphasis to consistency with existing soil moisture products.
